SOUNDPAINTING?
Soundpainting is a multidisciplinary sign-language used to compose in real time. This is the definition given by Walter Thompson, musician, composer, director and inventor of the soundpainting language. In practice, it is a tool used to communicate with an ensemble of artists in order to guide them through an improvised creation mixing music, theatre and visual arts.
For the second season in a row, Soundpainting is coming to Amsterdam with exclusive shows and regular workshops.

Join a Soundpainting Lab and learn to perform in this world-renowned artform with your own discipline. You can come as an actor, a musician, a dancer, an artist, a singer, an acrobat and more if you combine discipline!
The Labs are open to everyone who is a practitioner of one of the disciplines—no need to know the Soundpainting language or to be familiar with it—and will focus on the syntax of the language, a specific sign family and its application in each discipline, and a time of jamming and composing together.
