Gael Doorneweerd-Perry

Gael is an Amsterdam-based theatre maker, actor, soundpainter, and teacher whose artistic journey began in music and circus. He started in theatre in 2008 and turned professional in 2012, founding his first improvised theatre company in Strasbourg, France.

Since then, he has created, directed, and performed in English and French, founding a wide range of projects and collaborating with theatres in over 50 countries, making him a recognised voice in the field of unscripted theatre.

His work is often described as playful and heartfelt, blending physicality, kindness, and a dash of craziness to cast a sharp eye on life. He sees unscripted theatre as a shared investigation between actors and audience into what it means to be human.
