How can you be an actor, dramaturge, and director simultaneously? How to make the narrative structure become intuition? What makes something ephemeral become eternal?
In this workshop, Colombian actor, director and teacher David Moncada will have you explore the mechanisms of dramaturgy through improvisation, allowing you to discover the story as you are telling it. You will learn how to work as an improviser in the present moment, embracing each offer as a new possibility for scene construction. Making the improvised story coherent and meaningful without hindering the improvisation process. You will learn how to recognize impulse and honest reactions as fundamental tools for narrative construction.
We will be exploring concepts like platform, circles of possibilities, emotions, and the impact of scene partners on the improvisation process. If you are an experienced improviser interested to balance technical skills and the spirit of play in the improviser’s work, this is for you. David is not only an internationally renowned improviser and teacher, at Flock Theatre we find his work incredibly innovative, beautiful, and a breath of fresh air for the European improv scene.
Join the 1-day workshop ‘Dramaturgy of the Present’, and be encouraged to abandon preconceived formulas and instead immerse yourself in the narrative.
