Cardboard Creatures – Jennifer Jordan

Puppetry allows us to do things on stage we would never do with our own bodies, taking risks unavailable to the limited human physiology and physics.

This workshop will teach some basic puppetry skills and how to listen & improvise effectively when having focus on an object as the character rather than your own body. We will explore shared creature creation, emotions through faceless characters, and using simple objects to create beautiful & surprising scenery.

Learn to play with puppets made of recycled boxes and packaging in ‘Trash Town’: a simple ‘magazine’ format similar to Sesame Street, with a range of full scenes, vignettes, songs and non verbal play all coming together for a performance inspired by childhood loves.

“Jennifer was SO BRILLIANT
