Audition – Once Upon A Time

The next production of Flock Theatre will be directed by Laura Doorneweerd-Perry. You can now sign up for the auditions for the cast.

The show will be in the theme of the series ‘Once Upon A Time’, fairytales and fantasy adventures. If you know the Netflix series Once Upon A Time, you know that these stories are not for children.

What are the Flock Theatre productions?

What will happen in the audition?

In this audition, players are invited to join the exercises and scene setups that the director (Laura) will offer. No need to prepare, just show up (on time :)).

Our auditions are intended to be a pleasant experience, where you actually learn something and have a good time.

Got a no before? Try again!
Got a yes before? Try again!
Never tried? Try now!

One week after the audition the casted performers will get an invitation. Once accepted, the other improvisers from the audition will be informed as well.

The audition and the rehearsals take place in Huis van de Wijk De Meeuw, which is an accessible space.

Does it cost anything?

Taking part in the audition is free of charge. As is being part of the cast.

As this is not a course but a production, there is no course fee involved. Players are expected to be there for all rehearsals and shows.

We also ask all players to do research/homework and promotion. If you take part in the audition, you agree that -when cast- you will do the (mostly quite fun) homework and contribute to promoting the show. This will take approx. 0,5-1 hour a week, but is flexible in busy weeks.

Who can audition?

Anyone with some experience in improvising or acting. We love meeting new faces, unexpected talents, and a diversity of players. 👩🏾‍🦱👩‍🦽🧕🏽🌈👳🏻‍♂️🦾🦻🧠🤶

(Yes, we have cast players that we met at the audition for the first time.)

This particular show allows for a wide range of players. If you are in doubt whether you fit, definitely come audition.

When are the rehearsals?

Wednesday evenings 19:30-21:30, between Feb 2 and March 23rd.

As we have only 7 rehearsal dates, we ask you to skip none. If you already know you cannot make it to 1, you can still audition. Just let us know beforehand.

Wednesday 5th and 12th of January are possible rehearsal dates, however not mandatory.

This may seem obvious, but you need to be available for both show dates 20th and 27th of March 2022.

How about Covid?

We want our cast to feel good and safe, while also making a professional production. We, therefore, follow the governmental rules on theatre rehearsals. We wear masks in the hallways, but not in audition or rehearsal. We use a well-ventilated rehearsal space
We ask players to show a valid QR code and stay home if they are having symptoms or have been in contact with someone who tested positive.

Say no more, I want to audition!

Happy to hear so! RSVP in the module below and we will send you all the info on the audition. Try it!
