By popular demand, Soundpainting is back in town this season!
Soundpainting is a multidisciplinary practice blending the work of actors, dancers, musicians and visual artists. You can join as a practitioner of any of these disciplines, and learn the language of Soundpainting. It is a universal sign language for live-creation, and generates beautiful compositions: stories, dreamscapes and metaphors, in a joyful collective artistic process!
Join these sessions, or a few of them, with in each session, the following program:
- A reminder of the basics of the Soundpainting language and syntax
- Particular focus on a sign or sign-family through practice and exercises
- Free composition and playing, adapted to each Soundpainting level
After the success of the performances and workshops last season, we are bringing back Soundpainting with the opportunity to learn or deepen your knowledge of the practice while playing, meeting and exchanging with artists from all kinds of backgrounds.
Sessions scheduled over 3h each time at the following dates:
- Thursday, September 10 (19:00-22:00)
- Friday, October 09 (19:00-22:00)
- Saturday, October 31 (10:00-13:00)
- Friday, November 20 (19:00-22:00)
- Wednesday, December 16 (19:00-22:00)

These sessions are open to artists (professional and ambitious amateurs) in the disciplines music, dance, theatre, visual arts, circus, performance, and more. Participants do not need to have prior Soundpainting experience to participate in any of the sessions.
Gael is a certified multidisciplinary soundpainter (currently the only one in the Netherlands) and has worked internationally with many artists, soundpainters and under the guidance of Walter Thompson—creator of the Soundpainting language.
