In this workshop we will be inspired by the work of the Coen Brothers. Enter a world of eccentric lowlifes, greedy nobodies and criminal masterminds that believe their own hype. It’s a world where violence lurks around every corner and no-one is ever exactly what they seem. We’ll be looking at the following transferable improv skills:
- Playing unlikeable people
- Quick fire dialogue and conversely almost silent scenes
- Putting gory violence on stage in a safe and workable manner
- Unreliable narrators
- Telling a story full of double and triple crosses with elegance and simplicity

Chris Mead
Chris Mead is an improviser, writer and creator who lives in the beautiful Surrey Hills with his wife, Laura & Cavapoo dog-pal, Radio. His focus is on emotionally-connected, relationship-driven improv. He is lucky enough to teach and perform all over the world. Chris studied theatre at the prestigious Royal Holloway college and continues to explore improv with every school, theatre and practitioner he can find.
