An intensive workshop designed to explore and develop improvisational acting skills specifically geared towards film. Based on director David Moncada Varela’s experience in feature films such as ‘No es tan importante (2023)’ and collaborations as an actor in productions like ‘Sábado Oscuro (2023)’ by Marco Vélez and ‘La Misma Estación’ by Ruth Caudeli, this workshop delves into cinematic improvisation techniques from the perspective of realism and the pursuit of emotional truth on the scene.
OBJECTIVES:
- Mastery of improvisation in the cinematic context: Learn to improvise in specific scenes for the camera, understanding the nuances that audiovisual performance requires.
- Emotional connection and realism: Develop the ability to emotionally connect with the character, scene partner, and situation, prioritizing honest reactions in each improvised moment.
- Exploration of truth in acting: Deepen the search for emotional honesty and authenticity in performance, fostering spontaneity in every improvisation.
- Technique and on-camera work: Understand the technical and practical aspects of acting on camera, including handling framing, movements, and specific focuses to enhance improvised performance.
- Feedback and growth: Provide and receive constructive feedback to encourage individual and collective growth of participants, promoting a collaborative and continuous learning environment.
