This 2-day intensive with theatre maker Paul Berrocal is about exploring every theatrical function, from the protagonist to the stagehand. Paul will bring his experience as a theatrical improviser and total genre geek to this workshop for experienced improvisers.
What makes us choose to play what we play? How do we know what a scene needs? What do we want the scene to show?
These two days will be about finding what each theatrical function implies, embracing each role fully without overstepping on the other ones. We will discuss what role you usually take and which one feels the most comfortable.
Instead of overthinking on the sidelines, we’ll explore when and why to play a main, support, extra, quick walk-on, helpers, narrator, stagehand, sound maker, or opponent. To eventually together, create a company of many.
