This is a special workshop for experienced improvisers from all over the world!
For three days, you will work with highly renowned coach, beloved teacher and brilliant format creator Chris Mead on creating a show together, as a group, with 9 other improvisers. You will think about style, structure, form and more to end up with a show that you are excited about! As the culmination of the 3 days, you will perform the show on the festival stage.
For this ensemble work, you will create a brand-new format alongside other experienced improvisers. The further goal of the project is for every person in the ensemble to own the rights to that creation. This way, you will be able to bring the show back to your community, perform it for your local audience, re-work it with your group and even invite some of the original members to perform it with you!
The application process and financial details
Because of the nature of this project, we will open applications for three weeks to be part of the Festival Ensemble. Following the application period, the festival team will select 10 local and international improvisers from different horizons to create the ensemble.
Applications are open from February 4 to February 27, and require the payment of a €10 deposit. If you are selected, this deposit will be deducted from the remainder of the payment of the workshop that will be due before March 15, in order to confirm your participation. If you are not selected, you will receive a voucher of €10 to use for the festival.
If you have booked another workshop on the dates of the ensemble workshop and that you end up being selected, the fee you had already paid will be added to your deposit amount, and your subscription will be transferred to the ensemble with the remainder of the workshop fees.

This is a wheelchair accessible space.
Show on the main stage: Thursday June 26 at Treehouse NDSM.
Applications will be open from Feb 4 to Feb 27, and the selection of 10 international ensemble members will be confirmed at the beginning of March.
To apply, a deposit of 10€ is asked: this amount will be deducted from the price if you are selected, or given as voucher for the festival if you are not selected.

Chris Mead
Chris Mead is a renowned improv director, performer and teacher from the UK. He is a senior teacher at Hoopla, London’s largest improv school, where his classes regularly sell out months in advance. He is also the founder of The Pretend Company which teaches theatrical improv and stage craft to both improvisers and actors.
Internationally, he is one of the European circuits most in demand practitioners – visiting festivals in over 25 countries to teach, coach and perform. He wants improv to be evermore compassionate, theatrical, playful and fun. He is known for his thoughtful teaching, joyful stage presence and absolute commitment to pushing the art form forward.

Our friend and vegan chef Gabry will be cooking nice and cheap food for lunch, so go to the Treehouse Cantina if you want to have some!
