Would you enjoy playing scenes that seem perfectly mundane and a little boring? Until they’re not? Then this new improv course is for you.
Picture a completely ordinary office situation, except one employee turns out to be a vampire. Or an amped-up rugby team that accidentally charges into a chess tournament.
We’ll explore scenes like these using the longer-form style of De Vloer Op, meaning that you start playing the scene with a setup of who, where and what. We will do this sometimes in small groups (so you get plenty of playing time), and regularly in front of each other too (so you have a real audience).
You’ll learn how to play with contrast of familiar and strange, develop your non-verbal acting, and practice—with great difficulty —how to keep a straight face when things get delightfully weird.
Laura is a focussed and dedicated trainer. She knows the perfect balance between letting go, telling what to do and showing what to do. She is brief and to the point, which helps actors to stay focussed and truly improve their skills.
Also, she is smart and funny, which adds up to being creative and problem solving. I loved being trained by Laura.

There will be no class on 13 October and 3 November. The showcase is planned on 8 December.
