Improv meets crime series
Have you seen police and crime series like “True Detective”, “The Wire”, “Mare of Easttown” or “Mindhunter”? Would you like to be in one of them? Would you be on the “good” and/or the “bad” side of the law?
Murder investigations are full of drama. In some series, it is clear who the so-called “bad” people are, but all too well, life itself is full of nuisance and ethical dilemmas.
In this course for advanced improvisers, we will be recreating scenes typically associated with crime and police dramas. From crime scenes, police interviews, courtrooms, conspiring behind closed doors, bribing of politicians, stick-ups, sit-downs, and hits.
David will teach the class in English. You do not need to be fluent: the group mostly consists of players for whom English is their second language.
The subscription to this course is for 8 weeks, and is included as part of the Adventurer and Trail Blazer memberships.
The teacher: David Kühling
David Kühling is an avid cinephile for realistic crime drama series and movies. He teaches at three schools and has been teaching without a break since 2021. He is passionate about all things physical, such as ensemble, object work, and characters.
David is a quadrilingual performer who collaborated with SPARK, Flock Theatre, and ICE. He is (co-) creator of formats such as A Fool’s Journey, The Choice and The Rumour, and together with ImproNation, brought formats to international festivals in Germany, Norway, and Belgium.
