I love you. I hate you! I want you… To open ourselves to love is to accept the flood of emotions that come with it, because we can either numb ourselves or feel the whole package, there is no in-between! But how to portray such complex intricate feelings in improv?
In this course, we will focus on intimacy for improvised scenework, in order to explore the whole range of emotions that can arise in a personal relationship. Diving first into all kinds of intimate relationships, romantic and platonic, we will examine how to portray them realistically on stage while finding and respecting each other’s boundaries. In a second time, we will focus even sharper onto romantic intimacy and relationships, in order to perform a full length show with a focus on love and all of the feelings that come with it. Expanding your scope of emotions to not only generic love, but passion, guilt, hate, ardour, playfulness, shame and all the rainbow of feelings that the world has to offer, you will create compelling characters that embark on their journey to first and foremost discover something about themselves!
Join this adventure of the heart and open yours to the audience in a heart-warming and heart-breaking piece of unscripted theatre!
This course is for advanced players that already have performed narrative longform, and will spread over 24 weeks from September to April, including 2 showcases.
The subscription to this course is included as part of the Adventurer and Trail Blazer memberships.
