Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Monty Python are known for their physical comedy, slapstick skills and absurd situational humor. But what about improvising in this style?
Gael has made physical comedy one of the staples of his improv throughout the years with shows like Just Play or the Fraltons with his French groups, and more recently What Remains with Diego Ingold. In this course, we will explore what makes improvised physical comedy so enjoyable to watch—and to play! You will learn about physicality, about timing, about patterns and expectation management. We will use mime, soundeffects and few words to produce on stage memorable scenes and explore comedy with a silly physical twist.
