SIGNUPS OPEN UNTIL NOVEMBER 15th, 2022
Creatures, spirits and monsters are all around us. They live in our routine, in the shadows of our lives, and in our hearts if we keep them open!
In this class, we will learn how to improvise a full-length play in the style of Hayao Miyazaki. We will use different techniques using the body, music and our collective visual imagination to build world together and bring them to life in front of the audience. The work will also focus on non-linear narrative tools, bringing front and center the way to build stories created by Gael and called Kaleidoscopal Narration. This course will get you to work on your craft, study the stories created in the movies of the Japanese director, and bring your own creatures and worlds on stage in the format Miyazaki’s Kingdom!
The human world can be a dark place, and the best way to understand what it means to be human, is to not be one.
