It’s Morphin’ Time! Flock Theatre needs to recruit a team of improvisors with attitude for their newest production: ‘Flockrangers’.

Flockrangers will be an improvised theatre show inspired by the world of Power Rangers, directed by Mik Grosheide. Think: a wide range of villains threatening the world, fun and intense action scenes, and 5 monochromatic heroes who need to fight the forces of evil, whilst trying to overcome their own personal life struggles.

Rehearsals are scheduled on Mondays, from 16:00 to 18:00, at the following dates:
– Oct 26
– Nov 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
– Dec 7, 14
– Jan 4, 11, 13*
(The final rehearsal is on a Wednesday 16:30-18:30*)

Shows are planned on the following dates (shows at 19:30, call time at 17:00):
– Jan 14
– Jan 15
– Jan 16

Auditions will be held on Thursday September 10th from 16.30-18.30.
(There will be too slots of an hour. Your exact starting time, 16:30 or 17:30 will be communicated closer to the audition)

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IN THE AUDITION?

In this audition, participants are invited to join the exercises and scene setups that the director (Mik) will prompt. Co-directors Laura and Gael will also be there to watch (and enjoy).

As an auditioner, you do not need to prepare, just show up (on time 😊). Our auditions are intended to be a pleasant experience.

Within a few days after the audition day, the candidates who got selected will get an invitation. Once they have accepted, the other auditioners will be informed as well.

The selected cast members will be asked to do research, homework and promotion of the show, as well as be asked to help with buildup (on Wednesday 13th of Jan) and breakdown (after the last show or on Sunday 17th of Jan). If you take part in the audition, you agree that—when cast—you will make time for this as part of your commitment.

WHO CAN AUDITION?

We love meeting new faces, unexpected talents, and a diversity of players. 👩🏾‍🦱🧕🏽🌈👳🏻‍♂️🦾🦻🧠🤶 (Yes, we have cast players that we met at the audition for the first time).

Anyone with some experience in improvising or acting in scripted play is welcome to audition!

We do want to fill up our auditions with people that are interested in what we do, what type of theatre we produce, and that are aware of the conditions we can offer for this production. Therefore, we ask you—before applying—to read well this page and the information in it, to make sure that you are excited about joining this next project.

The audition and all rehearsals take place in the Flock Studio, which can be reached through 1 flight of stairs.

DOES IT COST ANYTHING?

Taking part in the audition is free of charge. And as this is not a course but a production, there is no course fee involved during the process thereafter.

Flock Theatre will aim to cover all costs linked to the production—rental of the studio and theatre, of the set and equipment, administrative costs and any other costs—with the income of the shows. At this stage and for this project though, no pay can be guaranteed for the actors, technicians, directors or producers of this show.
