Gael has been doing improv for over 15 years, starting in Strasbourg and now in Amsterdam. He co-founded Flock Theatre, Anananas & Pampamplemousse, the SIN, and Safe Play. After running IMPRO Amsterdam, he's now co-Artistic Director of Improfestival Karlsruhe and the Flock Festival. Gael loves to work around the world: with Laura Doorneweerd-Perry, Diego Ingold, Inbal Lori or Katy Schutte to name a few. His style is playful and heartfelt, blending physicality, kindness, and a dash of craziness.
Ross is an improviser who likes clever lines, emotional tension and weird shapes. Originally from Scotland, he has studied improv in Japan, Germany and the Netherlands. He also writes comics and music.
David Kühling-Romero is a show manager and actor at Flock Theatre. His eye for detail, warm nature, and multitasking skills—refined through years in hospitality—make him a natural in production. He’s been a show manager for ImproNation in The Hague since 2020. A passionate performer since childhood, who fondly recalls chasing a butterfly in Lorca’s La Zapatera Prodigiosa. He likes to say: “We have an entire worlds within ourselves.”
A seasoned accordeon player, Roelof enjoys creating atmospheric music and sounds and interaction with the players. He has been involved in several Flock Theatre shows in the past and likes both to teach others what he learned about music and improvisation as well as learn from others, as he believes there is always so much more to learn and try!
When Laura is not traveling the world, she can be found cycling the Amsterdam canals between her jobs as a trainer, performer, entrepreneur, and cat mom. Together with her spouse Gael, she founded Flock Theatre. These two improv nerds found each other through improvisation and after their improv world tour in 2019-2020, started teaching and producing theatrical improvisation in Amsterdam. Laura has a background in scripted theatre, dance, business studies, training design, entrepreneurship, directing and writing 25+ plays. In her improvisation career, she has been featured at dozens of international festivals and conferences in the arts. With more than 20 years of teaching experience, she also coaches other improv teachers. Laura is co-director, teacher and actor at Flock Theatre and her party trick is that she cannot get nauseous.
Hi, Mik here! I’m thrilled to be joining Flock Theatre as technician. With a background in audio engineering and a brain wired for improv, I’m here to support wild scenes, weirder sound cues, and whatever else the show throws at me. Hopefully I’ll finally be able to use some of the cables I’ve got stashed away at home! But let me untangle them first…
Jeroen lives in Haarlem, the Netherlands and loves storytelling in all its forms. On stage he enjoys silences and things that go bang in equal measure. He has picked up woodworking as a hobby, loves a good glass of whiskey and is the human equivalent of a Golden Retriever. He loves diving deep into subjects and finding out what makes them work and why that is.
Mash has previously joined Flock theatre’s four productions: True North, Bloodline, Polar Nights and Improvathon. She is also on the Unplanned Musical cast at easylaughs and a teacher at Spark Rotterdam. She loves improv that is heartfelt, silly, musical and physical. In scripted theatre you can catch her as an actor at DownstageLeft theatre (sometimes even a director or a playwright). She is bubbling with excitement to join Flock theatre company as an actor and a creative comms.
Liron is an experienced improviser, clown, performer, actor and impro teacher, teaching and performing across Europe. She loves connecting with and supporting her partners on stage, and finds special joy in those "peas in a pod" moments. She enjoys movement, physicality, and silent scenes - always bringing energy and positivity. Liron Loves cats and Lindy Hop dancing, and her love of cycling clashes with her hate of cold weather (hopefully, she’ll get used to it soon).
Shane, who is originally from NYC, studied Astrophysics in Texas and Scientific Computing in Berlin before she started improvising with the Delft Improv Group in the Netherlands. Since 2021, she has taught classes and organized for the Improv Community Eindhoven (ICE) producing monthly shows, masterclasses and community jams. Beyond ICE she has performed and directed at international festivals. Improv to her is celebrating on stage the specific weird way that we are all unique.
Sheila Bosco is a drummer, percussionist, and theater nerd who loves the experimental and avant-garde. She began in NYC theater as a technician, then moved into sound design and performance art. Sheila writes music for It’s Your Fault Theater, drums in the improv psych-rock band Dire Wolves, and is a resident at Treehouse NDSM, working in sound design and multimedia. Sheila is excited to be collaborating with Flock Theatre as a musician!
Soa discovered the Improv world via the traditional French-Canadian improvisation match format when living in Montreal in the 2010s, pursued it in France for a couple of years, and switched to English and a broader improv style when moving to Amsterdam in 2016. She fell in love with musical improv and currently performs with The Unplanned Musical (easylaughs). As a regular 24/7 supermom or as a quality engineer in the 9-to-5 hustle, she is enthusiastic about making the Amsterdam improv scene vibe!
Florian Gerritsen loves bursting into song at random moments. He also loves watching squirrels and ducks go about their squirlyducky business. He likes words. Like ventricle. Or mayonnaise. He totally wrote this bio text in one go, instead of rewriting in a bunch of times, and he’s madly in love with improv, especially musical improv. He performs regularly with The Unplanned Musical and the rapgroup ASTIRoids. Through this, he has found that embracing your inner silliness is great, but doing so together is magic.
Jonada was born in Albania but feels at home just about anywhere. Her improv journey began in Amsterdam in 2019—thanks to a dare from a friend—and she has been hooked ever since. She loves creating joyful, spontaneous moments on stage, supporting her fellow players, and dreams of one day seamlessly channeling a Forest Gumpesque character on stage. Offstage, she lives in Amsterdam with her lovely supportive husband Diego with whom she shares a common love and curiosity for travel and cooking.
Hello world! My name is Zornitsa and I am an improv enthusiast – it was a love at first sight when I started late 2019 in Brussels and, after moving to Amsterdam, continued practicing with the lovely folks @ Flock Theatre. When I am not deeply lost in numbers, dashboards and spreadsheets, I enjoy learning new improv techniques, doing laughter yoga icebreakers, enjoying the sun and trekking through faraway mountains. As an actor at Flock, I am excited to explore new avenues of expression and connectedness !
